Learn Hip Hop Dance

Hip Hop dance is quite a dynamic, improvisational street dance style, originally thought to be rooted in African American and Latin communities in the 1970’s, characterized by responsive and rhythmic movement to hip hop music. It’s an umberalla term which encompasses various styles, including locking, breaking, and popping, and it’s a core element of the larger hip hop culture. The dance emphasizes personality, freedom of expression, and features a wide-range of moves such as bounces, rocks and isolations.

At the Dance Connection, we are pleased to offer a comprehensive dance curriculum for children, youth and adults in a number of competitive and recreational Hip Hop classes. We are well known throughout the province for offering some of the best curriculum and instructors in the industry!

You and your family members will love being here. We have an impressive studio and highly qualified, trained, award-winning instructors who will help polish your or your child on his or her moves in a great relaxed, low-pressure environment, during our group dance classes.

You can also choose from a number of different classes including competitive street dancing for children and youth, hip-hop dance crews, or recreational hip hop and breakdance for kids and teens, with a number of classes per week from which to choose.

We have several phenomenal hip hop instructors to choose from, and each instructor boasts of having his or her own style. What more could you ask for?

Classes for kids are organized by age. While the classes for toddlers are more general introduction to dancing, school-age kids, pre-teens, and teens can focus on a particular specialty, like hip hop, breakdance, locking, popping, acrobatics, etc. depending on their interest.
